San Juan County, Utah

I grew up in Blanding, Utah which is at the heart of San Juan County. A few weeks ago I had the opportunity to spend some time with my family and during our visit we went on a few smaller hikes to areas that were a large part of my childhood. First, we went south to the desert along highway 95 down the Moki Dugway back around through Bluff. A few days later, we went north to Blue Mountain or Abajo Mountain completing a 70-mile loop through Bears Ears National Monument.

There is never enough time to see or do everything. This trip was quick and I know from past experience that to really see and get to know these areas you must do it on horseback or my foot, you need to give yourself the time to really see what is around you.
